Effect of Asulox and Asulox + Actril D on the yield and quality of two sugar-cane varieties
In trials with Asulox (sodium salt of asulam) and Actril D (containing the octanoyl ester of ioxynil and iso-octyl ester of 2, 4-D), excellent control of sugar-cane weeds was obtained. Where Asulox was used without Actril D, broadleaved weeds and sedges were not controlled. Growth measurements showed that the treatments did not differentially affect the growth rates of the two sugar-cane varieties tested. The yields and estimated weight of cane: weight of sugar ratio support the conclusion that the treatments had no effect on the yield or quality of the cane.
