Colletotrichum leaf spot and stem canker of Stylosanthes spp. in Florida
A Colletotrichum leaf spot and stem canker of several Stylosanthes spp. was observed in the late summer-autumn of 1971 at the University of Florida, IFAS, Agricultural Research Center, Fort Pierce. The disease was severe on a Srylosanthes subsericea and moderate on a Stylosanthes erecta introduction. Introductions of S. mucronata, S, lzamata, S. scabra and other lines of S. subsericea were only lightly infected. S. guyanesis lines were the least affected by the disease. 'Schofield' stylo, a S. guyanensis line grown commercially in Australia was, however, severely diseased in glasshouse-laboratory pathogenicity tests.
