Riboflavin requirement of laying hens for egg production and reproduction in the humid tropics
A study was carried out to determine the riboflavin requirement of laying hens for egg production and egg hatchability in a tropical environment. Levels of 0.9-8.1 mg riboflavin/kg diet were fed to White Leghorn hens. On the basis of egg production and hatchability percentages a level of 4.1 mg riboflavin/kg diet was found to be adequate for egg laying while a minimum level of 5.7 mg riboflavin/kg diet was required for good hatchability.
