Factors affecting the field effectiveness of Encarsia opulenta (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), a parasitoid of the citrus blackfly, Aleurocanthus woglumi (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae)
Encarsia opulenta (Silvestri) is one of the most effective parasitoids at controlling its host, the citrus blackfly, Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby. The success of E. opulenta is due to close temporal synchrony with its host and its ability to inflict high mortality on its host at low host densities on citrus and non-citrus plants.
