A further note on the survival of plants of Leucaena leucocephala in grazed stands. (109)
The survival of individual plants of Leucaena leucocephala was followed for about 40 years in three stands initially planted out in 1958-62 on well-drained sites in South-East Queensland. The stands were grazed as hedgerows so that edible forage was kept within reach of grazing cattle. The average survival of the three stands was 85% after approximately 19 years, 82% after 27 years, 76% after 33 years, and 74% after 40 years.
