Tropical Agriculture Celebrating 100 years of Continuous Impactful Publication

Welcome to Tropical Agriculture, a journal established to publish the results of original research on aspects of food and agriculture that would lead to greater productivity and sustainability in tropical regions.

The journal is peer-reviewed and has an international readership. We should be pleased to receive your manuscripts for consideration for publication with us.

The overarching aim of Tropical Agriculture is to contribute to the process of food systems and agricultural development in tropical agro-ecosystems, through publication of papers in the area of agricultural and agricultural related science and technology.

The specific objectives of the Journal are:

  • To address the practical aspects of sustainable tropical agriculture production, improvement, protection and commodity utilization, worldwide.
  • To foster the application of science and technology to understanding and removal of constraints to tropical agricultural productivity and food systems.
  • To publish the results of original research which make significant contributions to knowledge on the practice of sustainable and productive tropical agriculture.

Publication Fee

In 2019, Tropical Agriculture journal transitioned to a fully open access journal. For manuscripts first received on or after 1st April 2021, if they are accepted for publication after the peer review process is complete, for a Research Paper and a Review Paper, a publication fee of US$200 and for a Research Note, Short Communication and for students (need to submit a copy of student’s identification), a publication fee of US$100 will be charged to the lead author.
