Abstract

The effect of introducing N-fixing cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) on biomass crop growth was studied using a newly isolated strain of Synechococcus and a Napier grass - pearl millet hybrid under laboratory conditions. Introduction of this cyanobacterium significantly enhanced the rate of plant growth and biomass yield from seed to young plant.
