Abstract
A 7-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate sun-dried cassava peel meal (SCPM) as a feed ingredient for broilers. In all, 480 one-day-old unsexed broiler chicks were randomly allotted to four isonitrogenous combined starter-finisher diets in which SCPM was incorporated at 50, 100 and 150 g kg-1 diet. Each experimental treatment was replicated thrice. Feed and water were supplied ad libitum. The addition of SCPM had no significant influence on feed consumption, liveweight gain and the efficiency of feed utilization, but feed intake tended to increase with increasing levels of SCPM. Carcass parameters -dressing percentage, weights of blood, feathers, viscera and liver -were not significantly affected at any level of dietary SCPM.
