Abstract

Plasma cortisol concentrations were determined by radioimmunoassay in blood samples which were taken at hourly intervals over 24 h from eight Bos indicus (Boran) cattle via indwelling jugular cannulae. Statistical analysis revealed no diurnal variation of cortisol in Boran cattle. Possible explanations for this are cited in the discussion.
