Abstract
Evidence was obtained that the fruit set and flower production by plants of Capsicum frutescens, Capsicum annuum and Solanum melongena are, to a large extent, determined by the amount of fruit developing on them. Set occurred by auto self-pollination and external agents did not appear to increase it greatly. The bee, Exomolopsis putchella, visited flowers of all the species and was responsible for any cross-pollination that occurred.
