Abstract

Five species of Limacodidae feed on banana leaves in plantations in the Province of Bocas del Toro, Panama. Sibine near apicalis Dyar, Sibine sp. (black saddleback) and Sibine near horrida Dyar (bluenose) are major defoliators. Parasites, hyperparasites, and pathogen were collected from these pests. Phobetron p. and Metraga detenninata Druce feed on banana leaves but are not a problem.
