Abstract
Wound and subcutaneous myiasis are recorded from Trinidad and Tobago: nasal myiasis was not observed. Wound myiasis is produced primarily by the crew-worm fly, Callitroga americana, which has a wide range of hosts. The flesh fly, Sarcophaga plinthopyga, was found in wounds already infected by screwworm larvae but it is responsible mainly for secondary myiasis. Other specimens of flies occurred in foetid wounds. Subcutaneous myiasis was produced by three species: the warble fly, Hypoderma bovis; human botfly or 'mosquito worm' Dermatobia hominis; and various rodent bots Cuterebra spp. Larvae of H. bovis were obtained from imported cattle and D. Hominis from a dog. Many rodent hosts were found parasitized by Cuterebra spp., and one specimen of Cuterebra sp. was collected from man.
