Abstract

Liveweight gains and additional costs and return in four groups of grazed sheep given different amounts of ground cottonseed supplement were com-pared. The levels of supplementation were: 0, 0·24, 0·43 and 0·59 kg/day for groups 1 (control), 2, 3 and 4, respectively. The differences between initial and final mean weights were 2·04, 5·40, 10·22 and 9·26 kg, giving average net returns per head above the zero level of supplementation of EC$3.77, 11.19 and 8.29 for group 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
