Abstract
In a series of experiments, 5 cm two-node hardwood cuttings were established in the field with acceptable losses. By modifying the planting density and growing period, accelerated multiplication rate can be achieved without the need for specialized propagation structure. Owing to their limited reserves of nutrients, short cuttings emerge slowly and require a higher standard of crop management than commercial type cuttings.
