Abstract
The feedlot growth performance of yearling cattle and buffalo calves was studied and compared under on-farm conditions. The data were obtained from the privately owned Bermudez Ranch in east Trinidad. The mean difference between average daily weight gain of cattle (0·62 kg) and buffalo calves (1·03 kg) was highly significant. Buffalo calves reached market weight about a month earlier than cattle.
