Abstract
The heritability and phenotypic and genotypic correlations were estimated for organic dry matter (ODM), in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD), and ash content of leaves and stems and leaf:stem ratio in 10 clones of diverse origin of palisade grass [Brachiara brizantha (Hochst. Ex A. rich for two harvests. Significant differences were observed among clones for the characters studied. The quality differences between leaf and stem fractions were not significant. The broad sense heritabilities were moderate to low for all the characters studied, except for leaf:stem ratio. The genotypic correlations of ODM, IVDMD, and ash content between leaf and stem were not significant.
