Abstract

Clove was successfully propagated vegetatively by approach grafting. A success of 87% is reported for the first time, when grafting was done during September-November. Two epicotyl grafts, each on Eugenia jambolana and Eugenia caryophyllus rootstock, survived. Cleft grafting was also successful. Other methods using cuttings and layering were not successful.
