Note on a banana fruit-scarring beetle, Lachnopus sp., in Dominica, West Indies
Abstract
Damage to bananas in the field due to Lachnopus sp. is reported for the first time. Damage was also confirmed in laboratory experiments. The beetle attacks young fruit and causes scars that make the crop unsaleable.
