Abstract

A technique, using an electric current has been developed to detect infected in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.) by Fusarium udum Butler, prior to the actual appearance of external wilt symptoms. As the prediction validity of this technique is > 94%, this method should be useful in selecting individual plants for crosses in a pigeonpea breeding programme.
