Abstract

A mosaic disease of radish caused by a flexuous rod-shaped virus is described. The virus is transmitted by sap, seed and aphid vectors. On the basis of physical properties, purification, serology and electron microscopy, the virus has been identified as a strain of turnip mosaic virus and placed in the poty-virus group.
