Abstract

Six insecticides applied at different dosages and pre-plant/post-plant spray combinations were evaluated in field trials for three seasons for control of the sweet-potato weevils Cylas formicarius elegantulus (Summers) and Euscepes postfasciatus (Fairmaire). Carbaryl applied as a preplant dip (at 3.33 ml Al I-1) and sprayed at 1.12 kg Al ha-1 at three-week intervals was the best treatment. Performances of other treatments are discussed.
