Abstract
Web blight of pak-choi (Brassica chinensis L.), caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn, sclerotial stage of Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk, is reported in Trinidad for the first time and the existence of web blight of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is confirmed. Symptoms of the disease on pak-choi are described. Field surveys indicated that web blight is widespread on both crops, induces severe foliar damage during the rainy season and is associated with yield losses of 25-100%.
