Abstract

Bulk samples of raw peanuts, peanut butter, wheat flours, chicken, pig and dairy feeds were analysed for aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2. Samples were taken in accordance with an established sampling plan, and dry samples were subsampled using a Dickens Subsampling Mill. A mini-column procedure was used to screen 64 samples, eight of which were further analysed by thin layer and high performance liquid chromatography. Of the eight samples analysed, only one was confirmed to contain a small amount of aflatoxin G1.
