Abstract

Ether extract fractions of rubber-seed meal were analysed for saponification, iodine and peroxide values and free fatty acid content. Component fatty acids were also detected and quantified. The defatted meal was analysed for proximate constituents and amino acid content. Results indicated high content of linoleic acid (37.18%) and linolenic acid (29.95%). The defatted meal was high in arginine, valine and leucine, moderate in lysine and low in methionine.
