Abstract

The replacement of chemical fertilizers, fully or partially, through green biomass (Ipomoea fistulosa Mart, ex Choisy), its digested slurry and biogas slurry was studied for radish, a root crop. Application of digested slurry to replace half the N of chemical fertilizer gave better yields than its total replacement. The effect of organic fertilizer on the physico-chemical properties of the soil was also studied.
