Abstract

Deblossoming of healthy and malformed buds of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Dusheri at the bud-burst stage significantly reduced the emergence, length, breadth of panicle, and increased the percentage of hermaphrodite flowers compared with healthy and malformed buds without deblossoming. Malformed buds, whether deblossomed or not, produced malformed panicles (100%), which failed to set fruit. Hence, deblossoming showed no effect in improving the productivity of mango trees showing floral malformation.
