Abstract

The productivity of the leguminous tree Gliricidia sepium was studied over two summer seasons in SE Queensland, Australia. Cutting in the summer prior to the onset of cool dry conditions had no effect on leaf retention once minimum air temperatures fell below 10°C. Total leaf yield was significantly greater from one harvest at the end of the growing season compared with harvesting three or six times during the growing period.
