Abstract
Leaf mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Zeon & Coss. var. rugosa) plants were grown February-June 1985 and treated with one foliar application of 0, 2000 and 4000 ppm daminozide (butanedioic acid mono (2,2-dimethylhydrazide) 25 and 30 days after transplantation. Daminozide-treated plants were significantly bigger than the control in plant weight (157-327 g plant-1), in head weight (60.3-65.9 g head-1) and in head formation (36.6-41.7%). In addition, the number of lateral shoots and inner leaves and stem diameter were increased as a result of daminozide treatment but the number of outer leaves and the length of stem were unaffected.
