Abstract

A survey of nodulation was made among 46 legume species comprising seven members of Mimosaceae, two of Caesalpiniaceae and 37 of Papilionaceae. Nodules were observed in all examined species if Mimosaceae and Papilionaceae. Nodules were not found in Bauhinia racemose Lamk. And Cassia italica (Mill.) F. W. Andr., inoculation were unsuccessful. Hence, these species were accepted as lacking nodulating ability. Nodulation is reported for the first time in 29 of the legume species
