Abstract

118 mutant lines (M6) of C306 and the parent C306 variety of wheat were analysed for phenolase activity. Mutants showed a wide spectrum of variability i.e., faint brown, brown, deep brown and black, in phenolase activity tests. ?2 tests of independence indicated that the phenolase activity was associated with plant height and number of spikelets spike 1.
