Abstract
Cassava peels of mixed varieties, harvested at 11 months of age were used during an 8-week trial period involving 66 day-old Hyperco cockerels. The chicks were randomly allotted to two dietary treatments, A (dry meal) and B (wet meal). The mean daily feed intake, water consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion efficiency, and abdominal fat deposit values showed significant (P < 0.05) differences between treatments. There were no significant (P > 0.05) effects of the treatments on carcass weight and composition. The use of wet cassava peel meal is beneficial to cockerel chick growth performance.
