In light of the critical role of tertiary level institutions in Trinidad and Tobago, and the entire region, the Department of Behavioural Sciences, University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago seeks to further anchor and distinguish itself in the sphere of academia. The Journal of DBS is a peer-reviewed, open-access, electronically published scholarly publication developed and operated by the Department of Behavioural Sciences. The journal promotes innovative scholarship. It provides scholarly reflection and systematic approaches that are inherent to tertiary level practitioners of the disciplines; Sociology, Psychology, Government, Criminology, and Social Work. The Journal will be an outlet for in-depth multi-disciplinary discourse on a wide range of topics, theories, and methods. This Journal provides the thrust to meet the need for greater research on theories and practices within the specific disciplines and enhance the interconnectivity across areas of study with each issue themed to address scholarship in and across the Behavioural Sciences.
