Focus and Scope

Our goal is to publish innovative research on significant academic and societal issues related to the Behavioural Sciences. As an open-access journal we aim to increase the availability of research results and offer a dynamic structure for fostering dialogue. As an online journal our purpose is to enable a global exchange of ideas between researchers related to the development and re-development of institutional systems relevant to each discipline through the application of quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research. The journal will keep readers informed of best practice and current thinking worldwide.

Peer Review Process

Reviewers for this journal are drawn from a wide range of regional and international practitioners, researchers and administrators with expertise reverent to teaching and learning in higher education. Reviewers would be required to commit to this aspect of their professionalism and agree to complete a review within three weeks of receipt of the manuscript. All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and double-blind refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.

Publication Frequency

The journal will be published twice per year; February and September. It will be managed by the Main Library of the University of the West Indies and hosted by Campus Information Technology Services (CITS).

The Editorial Board's responsibility is to ensure that the journal and journal submissions are in keeping with the prescribed guidelines and standards as defined and agreed to by the Editorial Board.

Preparation for the journal commences in October and May prior to the February and September publishing dates respectively. The call for papers will extend from mid-October and late November for February and mid-May to late June for September. During this time the abstracts will be screened by the Editorial Board. Each article will be blind reviewed by two reviewers. Feedback/notice of decision will be given to authors by mid-December and mid-July. Corrected/revised manuscripts must be submitted by late December and late July to prepare for publication.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
