Abstract
Developments in the global and regional Caribbean economy point to the dire need to search for new productive sectors and markets as a means of creatively generating jobs and foreign exchange earnings. Among these developments are the rapid rate of technological change, trade and financial liberalization, the decline of traditional industrial sectors and persistent unemployment.
