Abstract

In the present global context, credit unions are once again gaining increasing recognition as alternatives (or compliments) to banks. Consumers should avail themselves of the resources available to them to support good decision making in this regard. It is consumers' responsibility to develop financial literacy, to stay informed on money matters, to understand risk management and to use good judgement as a means of making those decisions that will protect their income and wealth in the long term.
