Policies

Focus and Scope

The journal publishes work from all relevant subject areas, but priority is given to those that, in addition to showing acceptable scholarship, fulfil one or more of the following criteria:

  1. describe or evaluate experiments in curriculum intervention that have relevance for Caribbean school systems
  2. discuss theoretical matters that can favourably affect thought on education in the Caribbean
  3. promote continuous curriculum renewal in the Caribbean region

Peer Review Process

When a manuscript is submitted by an author, the author will receive an acknowledgement by email. Manuscripts submitted for publication are first screened by a member of the Editorial Advisory Board to determine whether: 1) the article is suitable for publication and can be submitted for peer review as is; 2) the article is suitable for publication but needs work before being submitted for peer review; or 3) the article is not suitable for publication in Caribbean Curriculum. Manuscripts that are successfully screened, or which have been revised in light of the screening report, are sent for double blind peer review to two reviewers selected for their expertise in the specific area. Reviewers may be from national, regional, or international academic institutions.

Publication Frequency

The journal publishes one collective issue per year.

Open Access Policy

The journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
