Persons are invited to submit abstracts for original presentations to the editors of Caribbean Library Journal at firstname.lastname@example.org
CLJ is a peer reviewed journal as such all submissions would undergo a process of double blind peer review. Authors would be advised of acceptance upon completion of the process. The editors also have the use of Turnitin software to check for originality of papers.
The following details should form part of the abstract sent in for consideration: The Title, Authors Names, Professional Designation, and Institution and Contact information, Keywords and an Abstract of no more than 500 words.
Requirements for Final Submission
Articles should not have been previously published and should conform to the Chicago Manual of Style, Author-Date referencing. Please see sample citations at www.chicagomanualofstyle.org. Authors are encouraged to provide written essays between 2,500-8,000 words.
Essays are to be structured as follows:
- The Title, Authors Names, Professional Designation, Affiliation and Contact information, abstract and keywords, Essay.
- Figures and illustrations should be of a high quality for online reproduction. We recommend that these be incorporated into the document at the preferred location, adequately numbered and captioned for publication.
Images for visual essays should be of a high quality for online reproduction. Creators can watermark the images for copyright purposes but these should not detract from the final presentation. Photographs should be adequately captioned. A note on the preferred presentation mode and layout should also be sent to the editors.
A visual essay is a nontraditional area of publication for library academic journals; therefore creators are encouraged to submit an accompanying text or introduction which highlights the theme and the significance of the presentation.
Video presentations submitted should be no longer than 10 minutes in duration. Your video file format should be .mov, .avi or mp4. Please ensure that the video clip is of adequate resolution, frame rate (30 fps recommended) and frame size to provide quality viewing. Frame size should be at least 640X480 pixels. All footage in your video should be original work. For videos and multimedia to be considered by Caribbean Library Journal, you must have created and/or have permission to use all content, including video and still imagery, words and music. Your video should also include the relevant credits information, Your video can be submitted by loading the file onto a DVD disk and mailing to Caribbean Library Journal or by uploading to YouTube or perhaps Vimeo and sending your video link email to email@example.com
Book reviews of publications about library, information and related areas are welcomed. These should be no more than 1000 words.
The recommended header for the book review is as follows: Author, Title of work, place of Publication, Publisher, Year of Publication. Number of pages, accompanying materials. ISBN. Reviewed by Reviewers name and Affiliation.
