The Family and Children with Developmental Disabilities in Trinidad and Tobago
Esther Inniss
This article examines the challenges faced by those persons affected and impacted by developmental disabilities, with emphasis on one of the more chronic disabling conditions, Cerebral Palsy, in an attempt to provide policy makers with real insight into the types of support systems required for their effective functioning and the impact and suitability of the policies currently available. It is hoped that this will result in the provision of really optimal solutions, in response to the silent pleas for help emanating loudly from this community.
